ISEMI's leadership is comprised of international academics and entrepreneurs who are setting the direction of the institution as well as teaching classes and assisting students with their ventures. They include:

Prof. Liora Katzenstein Founder & President Prof. Katzenstein's education spans business, law, psychology, and economics. She obtained her academic degrees in the United States - an MALD in Law and Diplomacy from Tufts University, Boston and a Visiting Doctoral Scholarship at the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration-, and in Switzerland - a Ph.D. in International Economics from the Graduate Institute of International Studies at the University of Geneva. Since then she has managed effectively to divide her time and energy between the worlds of business and academe.

Prof. Katzenstein's academic resume is no less impressive. As one of the pioneers of Entrepreneurial Education in Israel, she has published many articles and lectured on this and related subjects at most of Israel's prestigious universities and management institutions as well as at major public organizations and private technology based corporations. Her experience as Associate Dean of TISOM (Tel-Aviv International School of Management), a private international business school in Tel-Aviv, led directly to her initiative in bringing Swinburne University of Technology's renowned Enterpreneurship and Innovation program to Israel in the framework of ISEMI, where she has served as Founder & President since 1996.

In addition, Prof. Katzenstein is a member of the Board of Directors of numerous companies, including Clal Industries & Investments (Israel's largest holding company), Discount Issuers Ltd. (Israel's third largest bank), Bezeq Globe (a subsidiary of Israel's largest telecommunications company), Amanet (one of the largest consulting companies), RadWare and RadVision (NASDAQ traded high tech firms) and several others.

Avi Lavsky VP Administration & Finance Mr. Lavsky has over 25 years of experience in high technology marketing and real estate development. His early career focused on computer systems design, with positions at Cimatron, Israel Military Industries, and Elbit. Later, he established and managed several startups in the field of electronics, and assisted Israeli companies to raise funds, develop foreign markets and establish strategic partnerships. Mr. Lavsky holds a B.Sc in Mathematics and Physics and completed the coursework towards an M.Sc. in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Tel Aviv University.

Sam Burshtein (Visiting Faculty) Co-founder and Senior Advisor Sam Burshtein has almost two decades of professional and academic experience in strategy and management of innovation world wide. Having started his career in software R&D, he later worked in technology marketing, strategy consulting with The Boston Consulting Group, finance and investment advisory, and venture capital management with Carmel Ventures (a leading venture fund). His entrepreneurial experience includes having founded and developed several businesses and as an advisor to the founders of a number of successful biotechnology and information technology companies.

Prof. Michael Epstein MEI Program Manager With a strong background in sciences including a B.Sc. in Chemistry, an M.Sc. in Physical Chemistry, a Ph.D. from the Weizman Institute in Biochemistry, and a post doctorate fellowship at Cornell University, Dr. Mike Epstein decided to augment his training with a formal education in entrepreneurship. He came to study at ISEMI and was granted a Masters of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Since garnering his degree, Dr. Epstein has deepened his involvement with the institution and now acts as the Program Director of the master degree studies as well as a lecturer on a number of topics.

Prof. Epstein struck out on his own and founded "Machshava", a hi tech business consulting firm which dealt mostly with companies in the field of biotech, and consulted on the many business and professional aspects of the field. Prof. Epstein is presently involved in BioTargeting Ltd. and D4all Ltd. as the cofounding entrepreneur and CEO. The former is a startup company dealing with novel X-ray and ultrasound imaging, while the latter is a startup concerned with internet trading. Prof. Epstein also has his hands in real estate with the Chen Hasharon project - a self-owned project of 42 town houses for which Prof. Epstein has full responsibility.
